My name is Laura and I am a London Lash Trainer in Bovey Tracey, Devon. I joined the beauty industry in 2016 and am the owner of Lashes & Brows by Laura - lash studio and training academy. I am a passionate and driven lash artist and am eager to share my knowledge and skills and inspire my students as I have been inspired myself. In 2019 I received the Award of Excellence by London Lash Pro and in 2020 made my dream my reality by becoming a London Lash Trainer.
I always enjoyed wearing eyelash extensions myself and was entering my 13th year in my banking career and knew a change was coming. It was going to be a hobby, something to enjoy for myself but before I knew it I was fully booked and struggling to balance both jobs. I had a big decision to make - its one of the best life changing decisions I've made. I feel so happy when creating beautiful sets of eyelash extensions and making women feel more confident feels good!
My favourite style of eyelash extensions is Cat Eye, it can look so dramatic especially when styling with M curl, but iversatile when using a light volume to achieve a softer look.
The LLP products I cannot live without:
- Flexie - perfect glue for me, my retention proves it and the texture is easy to work with
- Mayfair Lashes - Creates beautiful fans, 0.06 are my favourite thickness, I can create light volume but also a denser volume look, the variety of curls offered mean I can style the clients lashes perfectly
- Booster - Keeps my fans open so they are looking pretty right up until the next infill
My top tips for new artists are:
- Have patience - putting pressure on yourself to be fast and accurate will not work, you need to understand the profession takes time to master, but with drive and determination you will get there.
- Practice makes perfect - make sure you spend time practicing your technique.
- Choose quality - use quality products to work with, it will help your journey to become a successful recognised lash artist!
The courses I run are designed to develop my student's knowledge and skills in the semi-permanent eyelash extension industry. I will motivate and inspire each student with powerful lessons that are interactive, knowledgeable and conducted in a professional manner, creating a pleasant yet fun learning environment.
